Ernakulam: Southern Railway has announced the introduction of modern Linke Hofmann Busch (LHB) coaches for Train Nos. 12678/12677 Ernakulam Junction – KSR Bengaluru – Ernakulam Junction Intercity Superfast, replacing conventional ICF coaches.
Train No. 12678 Ernakulam Jn. – KSR Bengaluru Intercity Superfast will run with LHB coaches from 20th June 2025. Train No. 12677 KSR Bengaluru – Ernakulam Jn. Intercity Superfast Express will run with LHB coaches with effect from 21st June 2025 (Originating from SMVT Bengaluru till 16th January 2026).
The revised coach composition will be 2 AC Chair Car coaches, 11 Second Class Chair Car coaches, 1 AC Executive Chair Car coach, 4 General Second Class Coaches, 1 Second Class Luggage cum Brake Van, and 1 Divyangjan-friendly Second Class cum Luggage Brake Van.
